Out of touch Politicians

So, the thing about this article is not that the Democratic plan is good. It also is not that the Republican plan might be better. It has nothing to do with the fact that their are loopholes being left open because both sides need the lobbyists to support them. The best part about this particular article is Senator Lott's comments about half way down.

"Some of it is outrageous," Lott said. "I mean, now we're going to say you can't have a meal for more than 20 bucks. Where you going to -- to McDonalds?"

I think this guy has been out of the real world for awhile. Perhaps some of his Mississippi constituents could help him come up with a list of restaurants where someone can eat for less than $20 that isn't McDonalds. Considering that 1999 Census polls state that:
Mississippi USA
Persons below poverty, 1999 19.9%12.4%

7.5% above the national average and after Hurricane Katrina, I imagine the 2005-2006 numbers would be higher. Please let someone call him on his idiot comment.
